Muriel Lake, just over the top of Paiute Pass, is one of my favorite lakes in the Eastern Sierra and holds great memories of family backpacking trips, big brookies, and jewel-toned down jackets. This studio piece is based on a photo taken during one of those trips, on a perfect calm evening after a big snow year.
