Welcome!
Hi! I’m Allison. I’m an artist based in Aspendell, CA, high up in the eastern Sierra Nevada.
I grew up in San Luis Obispo, and cut my teeth plein air painting along California’s stunning central coast after my parents gave me my first set of oils when I was around 13. I continued to create and show my work around Santa Barbara while working through three degrees at UCSB (go Gauchos!). Then, I spent more than a decade teaching data science and statistics at UC Santa Barbara, followed by a four year stint in data science and developer relations with an SF-based tech startup.
Now, I’m chasing down my postponed dream of working as a professional artist. My paintings are inspired by a deep love and concern for public lands and wilderness in the American west. I obsess over the works of early California impressionists like William Wendt and Edgar Payne.
Check out my recent and available paintings to see what I’ve been working on. To stay up to date with my new works, inquire about paintings, and learn about upcoming workshops and events, sign up for my newsletter or contact me directly.
Thank you for supporting artwork made by humans.
