Allison is a plein air and studio landscape painter based in Bishop, California. She is from San Luis Obispo, and grew up painting the hills and coastlines of California’s central coast.

After getting her PhD in Environmental Science and Management in 2012, she spent a decade teaching environmental data science and statistics at UC Santa Barbara.

Having spent weeks backpacking in the Eastern Sierra every summer as a kid, then living in a Nissan pickup truck between Bishop and Hope Valley from May to September for a number of years, Allison was always pulled back to the high desert and granite peaks of the east side. In 2016, she moved to Aspendell with her husband, Greg, and sidekick Mattie dog.

Allison cares deeply about public lands and wild things. When she’s not painting, she is usually writing code, writing about code, wandering around in the desert ,or fly fishing with Greg and their new pup Teddy.
